Rainbow’s beauty, A composition of hues and harmony of light

The rainbow has been a unique component in old folklore, narratives, and beliefs, as well as in poetic ways, and has always featured in artworks and art pieces in past years. Its natural sight is still capable of inviting artistic venture. It always shows us the true colors and beauty of nature.

While light is the catalyst for our world, it is a primary component of art that can modify our vision and 

able to change our perceptions or moods. Color is another vital factor of art that has instant and direct magnetism to the eye. Even without abstract concepts color has the power to convey emotions.

Color is an expression of light

Isaac Newton discovered the rainbow of light dissected by a prism and made his statement of colors including red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. He further explained that a rainbow is caused by a water drop’s reflection.

Moreover, sunlight is truly transferred through space by photon waves. For our awareness of photon waves two British experts of science ‘Michael Faraday’ and ‘James Clerk Maxwell’ did so many struggles. Later on, it turned out as Faraday’s discovery into the numerical form of writing down the equations that define the photon spectrum that contains visible light.

In the past few years, artists used different pigments. Some of them were steered from different plants and natural things and some of them were conducted from organic chemistry gadgets. However, their origin, absorption, and re-release of light depend on chemical formation.

Notably, combining the pigments is a ‘subtractive’ theory. A combination of red and yellow forms orange color light. Whenever you add some hues to a color mixture another piece of visible scope is minuses.

The basic color hues are red, blue, and yellow. By combining these colors we get so many other colors except white. Every color is complementary when we mix these colors

What are the Tints?

Paints are made with dust fine particles of hues combined with suitable material. Some adhesions can refract the rays of light when they travel through the tint.Although some tints can appear as dry powder this dryness can be reduced after adding some liquid agents.

Before the 15th century, water was used as a binding agent for the wall painting. In watercolor, we use water to thicken their form. Oil paints take a lot of time to dry. Only experienced artists can use oil paints for their paintings as it is very hard to use.

Artistic creativity with colors and light

Artists never missed an opportunity to experiment with materials and their unique innovations of color and light just like scientists. In an intense time of European culture, few artists invented different approaches to define the effects of light and shadow. Two artists Corregio and Caravaggio tried to use shadow to make visual effects.

Vibrant and bold colors can be used to highlight the emotional image of paintings. With so many palettes, making deep dark shadows with suitable colors creates golden light. Later an English artist Turner proved a force of progress. He experimented with colors and his painting turned out with a new and vibrant color ‘brown crust’. He was passionate about the interplay of colors.

At the start of the 20th century the paintings of ‘Van Gogh’ displayed the most powerful and emotional use of colors. The artist Fauves felt the disappointment to use colors.

Light is a form of art

Few modern artist have combined actual light forms into their artwork. In 1960, various forms of light were already discovered and artist ‘Daniel Flavin’ made light a center of attraction not only as the main medium.

Artist ‘James Turrell’ experimented on the interface of art and science. He was a student of astronomy, maths, and psychology. He was very enthusiastic about his work to make lightphysically visible to the eyes. He took the human concern of object viewing.

In conclusion, it’s an appreciatable effort that our artists have discovered colors and light with their artworks.
